• TATTOO CARE •Proper aftercare is a critical step in the tattoo process. We put our utmost care and effort into every tattoo to ensure the best possible result; however, how your tattoo heals has a direct impact on its final appearance and long-term quality.A well-cared-for tattoo will heal cleaner, hold color better, and preserve crisp line work and smooth shading over time. Without proper aftercare, even the best work can be compromised. Take the time to do it right—you will see the difference for years to come.⸻
• Recommended Aftercare •Initial Care (First 24 Hours)
• Wash your hands thoroughly before touching your tattoo.
• Remove the bandage the following morning (unless otherwise instructed).
• Gently (but THOROUGHLY) wash the tattoo using mild, fragrance-free soap and lukewarm water.
•Make sure ALL plasma is completely cleared from the entire tattoo surface (this is the goopy substance which comes out of it- often black or colored as it has tattoo pigments in it- This is completely normal *
• Pat dry with a clean paper towel.
• Do not re-bandage the tattoo unless you have discussed this with your artist .
_____
First 3 Days
• It is best to allow your tattoo to start the healing process “dry” (w/o any foreign substances being introduced into the healing skin)
• Apply a very light amount of recommended aftercare product only if absolutely needed (consult your artist)
• Avoid all Petroleum based products (including Tattoo Goo -these products cause excessive oozing/weeping of plasma & do not allow for the natural healing cycle to take place)
• Keep the tattoo clean and dry.
• Wash gently if plasma or fluid appears—do not allow it to dry on the tattoo.⸻• Day 3 ‘til Healing Completion •• Switch to a fragrance-free lotion (Lubriderm, Cetaphil, Aveeno or pure Cocoa Butter).
